The Cure — Close To Me

If you’re one of those people who sneer and proceed to make snide comments when Just Like Heaven plays on the radio, it’s probable you need to reevaluate your self. The Cure is no laughing matter. Their sound has always been a mixed bag of musical quality but when they are good, they are so—80’s—amazing—creepy—synth—painted—nails—good that it’s impossible to resist. I also prefer this early version of Close To Me versus the updated cut with the horns because I feel it better captures their sound and truly lets Robert Smith wallow in eye-shadowed depression.
