Fitz & The Tantrums – MoneyGrabber

This is the first song I heard by Fitz & The Tantrums, and it hooked me. Their first album, Pickin’ Up the Pieces, is a great collection of soul-pop music, given a unique sound by their choice to not use guitar – the whole album features two singers, bass, drums, keys, and saxophone, and that’s it. It’s a half hour of unique, fun tunes. One of my favorite albums of 2011. This video is very well done too, assigning each singer and instrument to either team red or team blue, and having their images complement each other as they do in the music. Its style feels progressive while seeming retro. A dope video for a dope song. You can buy their first album on Amazon or iTunes, and you can completely ignore their second album anywhere you want.
