Yosi Horikawa – Summer in 1987

This is the only song of Yosi Horikawa’s that I know, and I have no biographical info about him for you, but I know he’s Japanese and he’s a “graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy.” What struck me about this song is the use of seemingly environmental sounds in the beat, such as running water and what sounds like a bicycle bell, and maybe a screen door slamming. It gives a vague impression of an entire scene coming to life in rhythm in order to make this music. A very relaxing track that won’t bore you.

Edit: Buy his album Vapor here: http://yosihorikawa.bandcamp.com/music
