The Lone Bellow – You Never Need Nobody

The Lone Bellow are a trio from Brooklyn, and this video is remarkable. As a guy who gets very tired very quickly of white people with acoustic guitars, at first I wrote this off as just another one of those videos. But frontman Zach Williams’s voice and charisma won me over, as did the quality arrangement of the song. Not necessarily breaking any completely new ground (at least, not to a degree noticeable by a non-country-aficionado), but very well-played alternative folk/country music. Also, Williams’s facial expression when leading into the chorus is one of the better things I’ve seen recently. Their self-titled debut album is out now on Descendant Records.
